I read the other day that forgiving what we cannot forget creates a new way to remember (LB. Smedes).

This idea highlights how forgiveness isn’t just about letting things slide; it’s about embracing the opportunity to heal and rewrite our story. In other words, by making peace with the past, we can reshape how we see ourselves and our future.

It’s about breaking free from bondage, hurt, and bitterness and finding a way forward. In this sense, forgiveness sets us free and helps empower us to grow and bounce back stronger.

Think of it as flipping a switch, turning painful reminders into sources of hope.Ultimately though, it’s a reminder that our past doesn’t have to define us because we have a choice. Forgive!
