A message of encouragement How often, when we pray, we pray a short prayer with a specific outcome in mind? When we are ill, we pray for good health. When our bank balance threatens to haunt us, we pray for financial provision. When someone is gossiping about us, we pray for their mouth to be silenced. When we experience emotional or physical pain, we ask God to take the pain away.

Our primary goal in our moment of trouble, is not to escape the trouble, but to praise and glorify God despite our trouble.

We too, therefore, can sing out Psalm 59:16-17, “But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.”
